LEBANON, "the New Township at the Head of Berwick" in York County, called by the Indians Towwoh, was granted by the Great and General Court as a Township, April 20, 1733. The Parish was organized June 26, 1765, and the Town was incorporated June 17, 1767. Certain Grants to Woodman, Cooke and Bagley annexed March 5, 1785. Wainwright's Grant annexed, February 27, 1787. Woodman's Grant set off to Shapleigh (now Acton), February 14, 1793. Baker's Grant, Waldron's Grant, Hamilton's Grant, Andros's lot, Eleazer Knox's lot and Horsom's gore set off from Shapleigh and annexed, February 23,1825.
