I wish to repeat again my appeal to you for assistance in keeping these vital statistics correct and complete. A fair sample of what this neglect might result in can well be illustrated by this incident. A sister of a World War veteran was the beneficiary of his insurance policy. The authorities at Washington demanded a copy of her birth record and she applied to me to supply it but there was no record of her birth on the Town's books and I could not give her the needed copy.

This is only one of many I have been compelled to refuse a copy because there was no record of their birth. Not to report the child's name is a serious error. This year has shown a great improvement over those past, yet not complete.

Our schoolteachers have rendered me much assistance in this work and are deserving our thanks. I wish to extend my thanks to the many others who have assisted me.

Should anyone observe any error or omission herein the Town Clerk will be very grateful for any such information.

Respectfully submitted,

RICHARD E. HERSOM,

Town Clerk.
