NEW Regulation
In our past newsletters we have asked for volunteers. Helen Hennessy, while President of YAA, started a volunteer intern program which met with limited success with our membership. The YAA Board, as a result, has had to make the following difficult decision.

Anyone wishing to exhibit in any York Art Association Shows MUST volunteer to sit at the gallery on our open days Thursdays through Sunday a minimum of 2 1/2 hours per show. Sorry, No Exceptions. You will not be allowed to exhibit, otherwise.

Show CHAIRS
Please volunteer to be a Show Chair. The duties are posted on the page Running A Show -- we have many individuals willing to help you with drop-off and pick-up dates and hanging a show.

ONGOING Photography Seminars
Come & join in this group!
They meet on the second Tuesday each month from 7-9PM at the YAA gallery.

YAA member, Barry Tarr, a fine art photographer for more than 40 years, moderates the meetings.
Monthly assignments might include patterns, ocean or a color and will include discussion topics and review the photographer’s works.

YAA exhibits artwork in many York businesses. This venue has been well received in the community over the past years. Plus this is a wonderful way for you to get YOUR artwork and YOUR name in front of the public! There are still many openings that need to be filled. If you are interested in hanging your artwork in one of the many places still available for the 2008 outside exhibits Please contact the Leslie Doherty or call: 207-363-4392.

Support a FUTURE Artist
Did you know that the York Art Association has a Student Scholarship Fund? This Scholarship Fund annually gives out an award to a York High School student that plans to pursue an art degree at a 2 - 4 year college. This award is not based on financial need or academic excellence, but by the student's artistic talent. You can support future artists by giving a memorial or donation to this fund in your name or in someone else's name.
